#201 RUSSIAN BROWN BEARS |
|||
KULUBEAR: Hunt for 8' - 10' brown bears in the scenic Magadan Region of Russia. This outfitter's area is located more than 200 miles from the city of Magadan. The early Spring hunt is conducted by snow machine traveling between several main base camps in his area. Hunt America's Grant Winn was on the early Spring hunt in 2000. He had a fantastic trip and saw over 40 Brown Bears. He harvested two beautiful bears, one 9 1/2 feet and another 8 1/2 footer. This year, we had a group of seven hunters on the early spring hunt. They were able to see an average of 51 bears per hunter and harvested 12 nice bears. Late Spring hunts are located closer to the coast and are conducted out of comfortable cabins. Fall hunts take place from mid August through early September. Fall Hunts are located along the banks of several rivers abundant with spawning salmon. Hunters are able to take advantage of some fatastic fishing for several types of salmon, trout and char at no additional cost. Access into these remote camps is strictly by helicopter. Hunters can take a second bear on a trophy fee basis on both the Spring and Fall hunts. This outfitter also has a great population of Siberian Snow Sheep in his area and hunters can take a sheep in the Fall season, on a trophy fee basis. In this outfitters area it is possible to see 40-60 brown bears during your hunt. |
